REVIEW AND SWATCHES: MAC CANDY YUM-YUM LIPSTICK

I recently posted on my Facebook page asking which MAC lipstick you wanted to see a review on first and so many of you were intrigued by the bold and stunning Candy Yum-Yum. It has to be one of the brightest lipsticks that MAC offers so it's no surprise that this is a highly raved about shade that everyone seems so interested in. Keep reading to find out more about my thoughts on this vibrant and vivacious lip shade.

Colour
Starting out with the most obvious aspect of this lipstick, colour. Candy Yum Yum is a daring shade that takes a little while to work up the confidence to wear but when paired well, it looks incredible. MAC labels this shade as "the lipstick dreams were made off" and it truly is a to die for lipstick that's worth having in your collection.

Consistency
It has a matte formulation and as a result is very versatile. You are able to easily mix it with other lipsticks to achieve a shade you desire more without the consistency getting in the way. You are also able to add a gloss over the top for an irresistible shiny pout or wear it matte for a bold and daring look.

Usage
You can use Candy Yum Yum as a base for other lip products such as before a nude lipstick so that it isn't so nude, mixed into other lipsticks to change their colour, under a gloss or of course on it's own. As I said, the matte formulation makes it very versatile so although it's a crazy colour, this shade can be used in many ways.

Pigmentation

You can tell from the swatch above that what you see in the tube it what you get on your lips which is often a downfall of bright lipsticks when they look incredible in the tube but go onto the lips sheer.

Cost and Accessibility

MAC lipsticks retail for $36 and are available from MAC counters at Myer and David Jones.

So overall, I would recommend this lipstick if you're a person who loved bold lip colours or if you're looking for a signature colour to wear out on the town or for special occasions.
