STILA KITTEN MUST-HAVES SET {COLLECTION OVERVIEW}

Stila is one of those brands that can be hard to get your hands on especially for a Brisbane blogger like myself, not to the extent that Tarte or LORAC is completely unavailable in Australia but Stila is really only accessible in Mecca Maxima. So unsurprisingly I hadn't delved much into Stila until my international swap with a gorgeous US chicky (you can watch the swap video here).

If you've heard of Stila then it was probably followed up with a discussion about "kitten", their infamous sparkly nude shade. Even for someone who had no access to Stila at all (a few years ago before Mecca Maxima), I still somehow managed to have in my possession the coveted Stila Kitten eyeshadow in pan. I adored that shimmery champagne eyeshadow...until it smashed everywhere and it was too much of a hassle to use. So I was extremely excited to see not just the eyeshadow in this set but also a complimenting selection of lipgloss and an shimmer duo.

Stila Silk Shimmer Luxe Gloss
It's like liquid rose gold in a tube, enough said! Okay I'll say a little more! It's quite a sticky formulation so very comparable to the MAC Dazzleglasses and usually I'm not a fan of that consistency but I think that over a lipstick this product would be incredible.

All Over Shimmer Duo
This shimmer duo consists of a light nude shade a little more muted than the original Stila Kitten and then a taupey warm toned copper. I love this duo because it's perfect for creating a subtle shimmery eye look for everyday wear or for highlighting your cheek bones. This would be great for travelling since it's a compact way of bringing a couple of shades for a go-to shadow combo that doubles as an all over highlighter.

Stila Kitten Eyeshadow
Here it is in all it's shimmery glory, the golden champagne colour that started it all. This colour is extremely versatile and can be used as a lid colour for a smokey or dramatic neutral eye or as a crease colour for a glowy natural look. The consistency of this buttery eyeshadow is what makes it so great because the bendability is incredible.

Stila Lip Glaze
When I first saw this I had to double glance because I thought that it was an ELF product! I love the brush on this product where you wind up the bottom and a dob of product is dispensed through brush hairs. This gloss is a little more copper toned than I usually go for but I definitely still use this, mainly for bringing warmth to any lipstick or plain lip.

Packaging: The photo above shows how this set is packaged and I think the whole layout of it all was very well put together and wonderfully displayed. The packaging makes it such a cute gift so it would be the perfect set to give as a present.

Price and Accessibility: I have had so much trouble tracking down this product because it appears to be an Ulta exclusive set, maybe only available during the holiday season.

Despite this particular set being a bit inaccessible, I hope that you were able to find this review useful in letting you know a little bit more about all of these products individually. The product I would recommend most from this set is definitely the Kitten eyeshadow because it's such a staple shadow that I think everyone has to try out. The all over shimmer is quite a nice product also because it has the ability to create a gorgeous candlelit glow. As for the lip products, you could definitely give them a miss especially if you're not huge into gloss but if you're a lip gloss fanatic then go right ahead and give them a go.

Thank you for reading.

  1. The Stila lipglazes totally look like an ELF liquid lipstick! That Shimmer Duo is gorgeous, I love how it doubles as an eyeshadow too.
