Nude lipsticks usually have an undertone of pink or coral so all I needed to do was find the perfect in between of nude and pink or nude and coral. That I did - MAC Snob proved to be the best of both worlds and is now my go-to lipstick when I'm looking to achieve that light lip look. I also found my perfect coral nude which is MAC Sweet and Sour but I'll leave that for a different day.
Colour
So the colour is obviously the most important aspect when it comes to this lipstick. It's not as if I went out looking for something with great formulation (although it ticks that box also) but moreso something that fulfilled my nude lipstick needs. So Snob is a hybrid between pink and a nude because it has the pink tone to it that makes it very wearable but it's still extremely light in tone and flesh coloured.
Application and Pigmentation
Due to Snob being such a creamy formulation it allows the product to apply thickly therefore providing an immense colour. I would say Snob is more of a pastel than anything else and that's why it achieves so well when used as a nude. The colour is best described as a muted light baby pink and it's very complimentary for all skin tones.
Consistency
Snob is a satin formulation and as I mentioned in the pigmentation heading just above, it's beautiful consistency enables the colour to be smoothly and evenly applied. Unlike some similarly coloured lipsticks Snob doesn't sink into the lines of your lips (again I think this is due to it applying so thick) and it actually has some moisturising properties about it.
Scent
All MAC lipsticks come with their signature sweet vanilla scent. This signature scent it actually how I spotted Target was selling fake MAC so since then I have appreciated the finer details of such a perfected lipstick. Scent can seem like such a trivial factor when it comes to lipstick but I sure have experienced my fair share of plastic chemical tasting lipsticks and even if the colour was fantastic it just isn't worth it.
MAC Saint Germain, MAC Viva Glam Gaga and MAC Snob compared.
Cost and Accessibility
All MAC lipsticks cost $36 (excluding some limited edition) and are available from MAC counters such as those in Myer and David Jones as well as stand alone stores or online.
My overall thoughts on this lipstick are that if you're light skinned or fair haired and are struggling to find a nude that wouldn't fit the title "instant ghost" then start looking into the nude pinks and nude peaches such as MAC Snob. Due to my great experience with the colour, pigmentation, consistency and pretty much everything else regarding this lipstick I would highly recommend it to everyone.
Thank you for reading.
