REVIEW: MAKE UP STORE BLOTTING POWDER

With us Australians in the midst of Winter, blotting powder has become an essential for the oily skinned among us.

Essentially this product is a pressed version of translucent loose powder. This makes it much easier to work with and also more portable since you can use it on-the-go without spillage in your car or handbag.

The Make Up Store Blotting Powder lives in my handbag because I find it comes in best use when out and about. Occasionally I will use it to set my foundation but most of the time I very lightly set my BB Cream or foundation with my NARS Powder Foundation then touch up with this product throughout the day if I'm getting a bit oily.

This product aims to soak up excess oiliness, helping to achieve a mattified look. The sleek packaging is the perfect size to keep in your handbag with a small brush for touch ups and after application your makeup looks instantly refreshed.

The main thing I love about this blotting powder is that it replaces your powder foundation for touch ups resulting in a less cakey texture. It's a much more finely milled product so seamlessly blends into your skin, ensuring that it doesn't cause a white cast over your face.

Cost and Accessibility
This product retails for $50 AUD and is available directly from the Make Up Store website and small boutique websites (such as Luxola). I think the pricing is completely reasonable considering how much use you will get out of the product and it's high standard of quality.

The verdict on this one is that I would recommend it if you're looking for a really high quality blotting powder and are willing to invest in one. Otherwise there are a few options in the drugstore that will do the job just fine.
