What's more suiting for Valentine's Day than red lips? Here are 5 red lip options for you to take a look at, a mixture between lipsticks and pigmented glosses.
I have put together a mixture of brands, shades of red, consistencies and textures so read on and you're sure to find a product that is great for you.
Maybelline Bold Matte "Mat5" ($16.25)
My go-to drugstore matte lipstick is this one from Maybelline because despite being a matte formulation, it packs so much moisture and wears beautifully on the lips. The rich creamy red is long-lasting and the colour is a great classic hue that compliments most skin tones so your chances are good that this one will work for you. Perfect if you are looking for a lighter and more muted red.
MAC "Ruby Woo" Matte ($36)
Ah yes, the ever classic bold red from MAC. This is the ultimate timeless red and one of my favourites that MAC offer so I definitely thought of it for this Valentine's Day post. As you can tell from the swatch below, it's bold and bright but also completely matte so it can be slightly drying. As long as you pair it with a lip balm or gloss over the top you will be completely fine. But this one is for the girls who want the old Hollywood glamour red.
Hourglass Opaque Rouge "Icon" ($38)
This rich blood red (ew, I hate saying that...but it's the best way to describe it) is mainly amazing due to its consistency. It dries on your lips like it's glued there which is good news for you girls who hate reapplying lipstick. This product will last on your lips from the time you put it on to the time you decide to remove it because it is extremely long lasting and doesn't transfer or even dull over time. Hourglass is available from Mecca and the pricing on this liquid lipstick is definitely worth it since you only have to apply it once per day and barely use any product.
I have said this before and I still stand by it, Dazzelglasses are not my favourite lip-glosses because they're quite sticky and thick. For occasions like this though, it's the best product I have at creating an ultimate glossy shine on the lips. If you're looking for a bright red gloss then this is the one for you.
Dior Fluid Stick "872 Mona Lisette" ($50)
This product provides a shine also, similar to the Dazzleglass, but it packs a punch for colour. The consistency of this product is incredible; the most amazing hybrid between gloss and stick. It feels so smooth and luxurious on your lips but without slipping everywhere or going over the lines of your lips. Perfect if you just want to wear a gloss but also want a rich colour.
