But when you don't want to spend too much on an item like this where you know you will have to repurchase often, these cheaper alternatives are great options. We are taking a look at six BB Creams and rating them against their coverage, strong points, weaknesses, colour selection and value.
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
Coverage- Light to medium
Strength- 8-in-1 product with a colour to suit everyone.
Weakness- Wet finish that requires powdering.
Colours- Fair, light, medium and medium deep.
Value- $15.95 for 30ml.
La Mav Organic BB Crème
Coverage- Medium
Strength- A great makeup base, cruelty free, organic and no nasties.
Weakness- Only one colour option to choose from, no SPF and fairly pricey.
Colours- Light to medium.
Value- $41.70 for 50ml.
Okay so I threw a CC cream into the mix as well, whoops! But totally worth sharing, it's my current favourite everyday coverage at the moment.
Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula CC Cream
Coverage- Medium
Strength- Smells like chocolate and feels great on the skin.
Weakness- Small amount of product in each tube.
Colours- Fair and medium.
Value- $12.99 for 13ml.
Boe Professional BB Cream
Coverage- Medium
Strength- Also includes a concealer for buildable coverage and well priced.
Weakness- Fair won't suit extremely light skinned girls and no SPF.
Colours- Fair and medium.
Value- $12.95 for 35ml.
Covergirl BB Cream Smoothers Tinted Moisturiser
Coverage- Medium
Strength- Smooth finish and blendable consistency, great value.
Weakness- I have light to medium and it's too dark so I would recommend going down a colour for a perfect match.
Colours- Fair to light, light to medium, medium to dark.
Value- $13.95 for 40ml.
Daiso BB Face Cream, Skin Complete BB
Coverage- Very Light
Strength- An absolute bargain, Asian quality (known for fab BB Creams).
Weakness- Only available in Daiso stores, not accessible to everyone.
Colours- Beige (keep in mind this colour is extremely light).
Value- $2.80 for 40ml.
My final recommendations from these six options are the BOE BB Cream and Palmer's BB Cream, especially since they work well together as well if you wanted to mix them.
