Raise your hand if you can’t resist the blush section in department stores! I constantly find myself purchasing new blushes but it is struggle for me to incorporate it into my everyday routine.
With the being said it does not stop
me from admiring the incredible colours that are released this time of season.
In this post I am sharing with you a good selection of my favourites for this
time of year – you can’t deny a good blush that compliments a Summer tan. So now that is is officially the first day of Summer let's discuss cheek colours for this season from both the drugstore and high end.
Face of Australia “Hello Dolly” Blush ($9.45)
I may have purchased this colour just because it is bubblegum pink but it is surprisingly
wearable. I find that this works great with a variety of skintones and for
myself brings some colour to my pale skin. Paired with a cool toned
highlighter, the duo is fun and perfect for Summer. This blush is available from Priceline.
NYX “Natural” Rouge Cream Blush ($11.95)
If the weather is anything for you like it is for me in Queensland…it is hot
out and you don’t feel like caking on the powder. This is where cream blush is
a life saver because it provides that healthy tint of colour to the cheeks
while being lightweight. This is the perfect creamy natural tint of pink and if
you want to cut down on the size of your Summer makeup bag then this can also
double as a lip product – making it a travel essential. This blush is available from Target.
MAC “Ladyblush” Cremeblend Blush ($41)
If you are looking to spend a little more money on your blush then this is a
great option because although it is comparable to the NYX product I just
mentioned, it is higher in quality. The MAC cremeblend blushes have a more
pastel chalky finish to them (in a good way of course) and it gives the product
a longer wear time and better colour payoff. This blush is available from MAC counters.
Models Prefer “Desk to Date” Blush ($10.99)
Acclaimed as a dupe for the cult-classic NARS Orgasm blush this beauty bargain is high quality and won’t break the bank. The chic packaging makes it look like it belongs to a higher end brand but without paying the hefty price tag. The quality is absolutely incredible with strong pigmentation and a blendable consistency. This blush is available from Priceline.
Mary Kay “Juice Guava” Mineral Cheek Colour Duo ($24)
It may be my love of highlighter talking but I am head over heels for this duo. The blush colour is the perfect coral that suits such MAC lipsticks as “Vegas Volt” and paired with the highlighter the look is breathtaking. It is a slightly more pricey item but considering you get two products in the one it is justifiable. This blush is available from Mary Kay.
Face of Australia “Nutmeg” Blush ($9.45)
If you want to look like Gigi Hadid from the VMAs this year then this is the blush for you. This silky golden bronze shade takes your tan to the next level. Pair this with a highlighter and you will be looking like a bronzed glowy Greek goddess. This blush is available from Priceline.
Phew, that is enough babbling about blushes for one day. I hope this post has given you some cheek colour inspiration for the season.
