Healthy Snack Ideas - My 3 Favourites

I get it - it's a constant battle to eat healthy. Especially in Winter when all you want to do is eat chicken nuggets under your duvet.

It's all about those little actions and making the right choices along the way. Don't beat yourself up if you get McDonald's twice in one week, just make up for it by doing a gym session and ensuring you snack right.

Here are 3 of my go-to healthy snacks that I eat guilt-free and keep me satisfied in between meal times. Warning: You will get hungry just looking at this post. Or, at least I did...

Loaded Peanut Butter and Apple Slices
Is there anything better than peanut butter? (Okay, maybe peanut butter ice-cream or Reece's Peanut Butter Cups). This delicious condiment is to be used sparingly because of the high fat content (as well as all the salt and sugar added in most cases) but you can balance it out by spreading it on a slice of apply and garnishing with crushed nuts like almonds or pecans, some coconut flakes and maybe a few dark chocolate pieces. Not only does this make a seriously satisfying snack but it's a great dessert as well.

Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese Rolls
The salmon is full of healthy fats and oils as well as heaps of protein. Meanwhile, the cream cheese has calcium and protein. Add a bit of salad onion and wrap them up in a bit of bread for a delicious snack. This will keep you full for ages and is really great for you.

Greek Yoghurt with Granola and Fruit
This is a snack I eat pretty much every day! Greek yoghurt is so amazing for you; packed full of protein, calcium and good bacteria. Add a bit of your favourite granola for some complex carbs and a crunch. Top with your favourite fruit for a natural sugar high and a good dose of vitamins and minerals.

You will often find me munching on these three healthy snacks alongside a smoothie but I'll follow up with my favourite smoothie recipes in a new post being released soon. In the meantime, try out these three delicious recipes and let me know how you go! Would love to hear any twist you put on it to make them even better.
