A lot has been going on this month between Febfast where I have gone alcohol free, health regime changes, the new job and getting ready for the Mater Breast Cancer Fun Run.
It felt like January lasted at least 2 months and 3 weeks while February has just flown by and it’s nearly over! Considering I’m doing Febfast and haven’t been drinking, this early end to the month is much welcomed.
Let’s start with that…I have not had a drop of alcohol in February
as part of Febfast, a charity where you donate the money you otherwise would have
spent. The money donated supports youth who have a dependency on or addiction
to substances. I did this last year also and wrote in depth about my experience
here.
Febfast – Alcohol Free Month
I decided that it was perfect timing to cut out alcohol after the
holiday season and to kick start my health goals for the new year. It has been
much easier than originally anticipated, as someone who loves a cocktail on the
weekend or a glass of red wine with dinner. I am very much looking forward to
being able to drink in social situations again and go back to enjoying red wine.
Health Regime Changes
Speaking of health goals, this month I have been incorporating bootcamp
into my fitness regime and straying from my usual Pilates classes. By majorly
changing up my method of exercise I have already seen incredible results to how
I feel and fit into my clothes. It’s a much higher level of cardio and more
intense interval training compared to my usual deep breathing through Pilates
poses. The bootcamp I go to is held by Her and Her Fitness, be sure to go and
like them on Facebook!
Mater Breast Cancer Fun Run
I’m also currently getting ready for a 10km walk with the ‘BadassChicks’ team that I have put together for the race. If you would like to get involved,
it’s not too late to join our team or simply donate to the amazing cause that
is breast cancer support and research. You can check out our team and what we
are all about here.
Valentine’s Day
This time last week you couldn’t go on Instagram without scrolling through an endless sea of roses and chocolate. I know I was well and truly spoiled. How was everyone’s Valentine’s Day this year? It’s a bit of a Hallmark holiday but I find it always get a lot of air time each year on both sides; single and coupled up. If you are coupled up, I hope you enjoyed some one on one time with your partner and if you’re single I hope you treated yourself.

Other than that, I’ve spent a lot of time reading which is no shocker.
Are you up to date with my latest book recommendations?
What have you been up to? I hope everyone’s 2018 has been a fantastic year so far! I really have a good feeling about this year and think great things are going to happen!
