How To Fit Yoga Into A Busy Life

 We know that there are a lot of great benefits to having a regular yoga practice as part of your fitness. A lot of people have very good intentions for doing yoga every day, but sometimes being busy just gets in the way of your wellbeing. Whether you’re juggling work, studying, children, errands, or household responsibilities, sometimes yoga is hard to find time for.

There are still ways to get your daily practice in, even if you only have five minutes and usually have to connect to your yogi self with your japa mala necklaces



Practice Deep Breathing

Put your hand on your lower stomach, and connect to your own breath and body. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths through your nose and into your belly. Breathe deeply. You can do this deep breathing just about anywhere. You can practice your breathing at home, on your commute, at work, or wherever you happen to be.


Start Small

Get into the routine of yoga each day by using a few poses at the end of your workout as part of your cool-down routine, as you would with stretches. Poses like downward dog or child’s pose are both perfect to stretch after exercise. Hold each pose for three to five breaths. 


Sun Salutations

Another good way to bring yoga into your daily routine is to move through a few rounds of a sun salutation to start your day. This easy sequence of poses sparks the energy in your body and is the perfect way to link your mind, body, and breath. 


Online Classes

If you don’t have time to go to the yoga studio, take an online class. Online yoga classes have improved a lot over the years and are a useful option for busy would-be yogis. There are hundreds of videos online ranging from 15 to 90 minutes, for different times of day, for different requirements, and for different levels of skill. You can find free videos on YouTube or sign up for courses with online yoga teachers from all over the world. Just make sure your practice is safe, without a teacher there in person to correct your poses to avoid injury. 


Make It A Priority

If you really do want to do something, you have to make the time for it, no matter how busy you might be. You have to make your practice a priority if you want it to be part of your daily life. You might find it tough to juggle your family life, work demands, and your health, but your other demands will be easier to keep up with if your health is good. You can make your yoga practice a priority by finding small chunks of time every day to get it done. Remember that yoga doesn’t always have to be about physical practice (although this is a big part of it). If you really don’t have time for the physical practice one day, you can practice mindfulness every day and take time for yourself instead.
