Top Tips for Toning Your Body
Toning is a popular goal in the fitness world, yet there are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to executing the right activities to achieve this goal.
While everyone is different and will require different routines, exercises, and food, there are some fundamentals when it comes to toning your body.
This post will look at some of the top tips to help you get toned.
#1 Eat more
An old conception is that you need to be eating less to tone up. However, this is not always the case. When you are exercising to tone your body, your body needs food for fuel. This fuel not only provides you with the energy you need to get through the workout but also the required nutrients your body needs to repair and grow muscles. Aim for food that is high in nutrients and low in artificial colors and flavors.
#2 Increase your protein intake
Not only does your body need a range of nutritious food for exercising, but more specifically, it also requires more protein. Protein is often seen as something you consume as a shake, to “bulk up”. While this can be true for some, it is not for everyone. If you don’t want to consume shakes, you can naturally increase your protein by consuming foods that are high in protein, for example, lean meats, dairy products, soy products, and legumes. Your body specifically needs protein to build muscle cells.
#3 Lift weights
Lifting weights and participating in strength training will not make you bulky, as some may believe. Strength training is a very effective way to build muscle, burnt fat, and tone up in the process. It would take years of very specific training or eating to bulk up.
There are many exercises that can be followed on an app, streaming service, or even by a Personal Trainer in your gym.
#4 Multitask
Multitasking can leave you burning calories for longer. When you are working out, try and pair two exercises together, for example, a squat and press, plank and oblique crunches, or lunge and twists. This then uses your lower body, core, and upper body in one exercise and can be a highly effective way to train.
Additionally, you can walk or jog on the spot between sets, or use Fat Reducing Belts to incorporate into your fitness routine.
#5 Hydrate
You usually hear about staying hydrated for your health, concentration, and energy levels, but how does it come into play with toning up? Not only does staying hydrated give you the energy to exercise, but it also aids in the production of new muscle growth. It has been suggested that muscles are made up of a lot of water, so there is no surprise there that water is vital. Dehydration can lead to muscle breakdown and hinder your progress.
#6 Rest days
While it can be tempting to keep exercising to grow muscle, it can damage your progress. It is important to take regular rest days, especially if you are new to exercising, so that your body has time to rest and recover, and your muscles have time to repair themselves.
Learning about your body and how to tone up can help you achieve your goals much quicker.
